The Supplication of Relief — Imam al-Mahdi (a.t.f.s)
In his book al-Balad al-Amin, Shaykh al-Kaf'ami mentions that Imam al-Mahdi (a.t.f.s) taught this supplication to a prisoner, who was then set free. It is recited for the swift relief (faraj) of the Imam of the Age and for deliverance from every hardship.
Ilāhī ʿaẓuma al-balāʾu wa bariḥa al-khafāʾ
My God, the affliction has become severe, and its hidden distress has come into the open,
wa-nkashafa al-ghiṭāʾu wa-nqaṭaʿa al-rajāʾ
the veil has been lifted, and hope has been cut off,
wa ḍāqati al-arḍu wa muniʿati al-samāʾ
the earth has become narrow, and the heaven has withheld (its mercy).
wa anta al-mustaʿānu wa ilayka al-mushtakā wa ʿalayka al-muʿawwalu fī al-shiddati wa al-rakhāʾ
You alone are the One whose help is sought, to You is my complaint, and upon You is my reliance in hardship and in ease.
Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa āli Muḥammad, ūli al-amri alladhīna faraḍta ʿalaynā ṭāʿatahum
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad — the possessors of authority whose obedience You have made obligatory upon us,
wa ʿarraftanā bidhālika manzilatahum, fa-farrij ʿannā bi-ḥaqqihim farajan ʿājilan qarīban ka-lamḥi al-baṣari aw huwa aqrab
and through them made known to us their rank. So relieve us, by their right, with a relief swift and near — as the blink of an eye, or nearer still.
yā Muḥammadu yā ʿAliyyu, yā ʿAliyyu yā Muḥammadu, ikfiyānī fa-innakumā kāfiyān
O Muhammad, O Ali! O Ali, O Muhammad! Suffice me, for indeed you two are sufficient.
wa-nṣurānī fa-innakumā nāṣirān
And help me, for indeed you two are helpers.
yā mawlānā yā ṣāḥiba al-zamān, al-ghawtha al-ghawtha al-ghawth
O our master, O Master of the Age! Help! Help! Help!
adriknī adriknī adriknī, al-sāʿata al-sāʿata al-sāʿah, al-ʿajala al-ʿajala al-ʿajal
Reach me, reach me, reach me! This very hour, this hour, this hour! Hasten, hasten, hasten!
yā arḥama al-rāḥimīn, bi-ḥaqqi Muḥammadin wa ālihi al-ṭāhirīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful — by the right of Muhammad and his purified family.
