A munajat (whispered prayer) of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (a), seeking Allah's security on the Day of Judgement.
اَللّهُمَّ اِنّي اَسْأَلُكَ الاَمانَ يَوْمَ لا يَنْفَعُ مالٌ وَلا بَنُونَ اِلاّ مَنْ اَتَى اللهَ بِقَلْب سَليم
Allāhumma innī asʾaluka al-amāna yawma lā yanfaʿu mālun wa lā banūn, illā man atā Allāha bi-qalbin salīm
O Allah, I ask You for security on the Day when neither wealth nor sons will avail — except one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.
وَاَسْأَلُكَ الاَمانَ يَوْمَ يَعَضُّ الظّالِمُ عَلى يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يا لَيْتَني اتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ الرَّسُولِ سَبيلاً
wa asʾaluka al-amāna yawma yaʿaḍḍu al-ẓālimu ʿalā yadayhi yaqūlu yā laytanī-ttakhadhtu maʿa al-rasūli sabīlā
And I ask You for security on the Day when the wrongdoer will bite his hands, saying: would that I had taken a path with the Messenger.
وَاَسْأَلُكَ الاَمانَ يَوْمَ يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسيماهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّواصي وَالاَقْدامِ
wa asʾaluka al-amāna yawma yuʿrafu al-mujrimūna bi-sīmāhum fa-yuʾkhadhu bil-nawāṣī wal-aqdām
And I ask You for security on the Day when the guilty will be known by their marks, and seized by the forelocks and the feet.
