A ziyarat of Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (a), the standard-bearer of Karbala and son of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (a).
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَابْنَ اَميرِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ
Assalāmu ʿalayka yā-bna Amīr al-Muʾminīn
Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful.
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْعَبْدُ الصّالِحُ الْمُطيعُ للهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلاَميرِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَسَلَّمَ
Assalāmu ʿalayka ayyuhā al-ʿabdu al-ṣāliḥu al-muṭīʿu lillāhi wa li-rasūlihi wa li-Amīr al-Muʾminīna wal-Ḥasani wal-Ḥusayn, ṣallā Allāhu ʿalayhim wa sallam
Peace be upon you, O righteous servant, obedient to Allah and His Messenger, and to the Commander of the Faithful, and al-Hasan and al-Husayn — may Allah bless them and grant them peace.
اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ لَمْ تَهِنْ وَلَمْ تَنْكُلْ
Ashhadu annaka lam tahin wa lam tankul
I bear witness that you did not weaken, nor did you flinch,
وَاَنَّكَ مَضَيْتَ عَلى بَصيرَة مِنْ اَمْرِكَ، مُقْتَدِياً بِالصّالِحينَ وَمُتَّبِعاً لِلنَّبِيّينَ
wa annaka maḍayta ʿalā baṣīratin min amrik, muqtadiyan bil-ṣāliḥīna wa muttabiʿan lil-nabiyyīn
and that you went forth with clear insight into your affair, following the example of the righteous and following the prophets.
